Home Remedies for Herpes

There are a few home remedies for herpes that can help ease the discomfort and sometimes embarrassment of this condition. But knowing what herpes is and how it works is also part of what will make the herpes remedies especially useful and worthwhile.

There are two types of herpes: Type 1, which frequently results in sores on the lips and mouth, and occasionally on the genitals. Type 2, which results in genital sores. Herpes is essentially a virus that can spread through intimate and non-sexual contact. Open sores that hurt a lot and resemble the flu are typically the signs. The virus remains in the body and can still be passed from one person to another without even showing signs of an attack after an infected person has been infected for the rest of their life, despite the fact that the episodes will frequently diminish and go away. As a result, it is essential to always take precautions.

Baking soda can be used as a herpes remedy to alleviate the discomfort and pain caused by open sores and blisters. Baking soda can be used to quickly heal painful open sores in the first few herpes episodes, which can be very painful and vicious.

A tea bag, particularly an Earl Grey tea bag, is another particularly useful everyday food for treating herpes. Applying a cold, wet Earl Grey tea bag to the wounds will help them dry out and heal. This is due to the presence of tannins in the bag, the active ingredient responsible for rapidly repairing and drying the skin cells.

The sores can also be treated with salt to speed up healing. Apply the salty solution to the affected area by pouring it into a warm bath. To speed up healing, dab the area dry with a clean towel and, if at all possible, do not cover the sores with anything, including underwear. Instead, leave them open to the air.

Applying ice to the sore and painful area can also help ease the pain of a herpes attack. Place the ice inside a plastic bag or wrap it in a towel and apply it to the skin that way rather than directly onto the skin.

Regarding herpes remedies, if you have an attack, ensure that you maintain good personal hygiene. Because the virus can easily spread through this method, towels and other personal items should not be shared. Drinking peppermint tea, which may help alleviate pain and the fever that can accompany an attack, is especially beneficial.
